  M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (The University of Texas, Texas Medical Center)

Celebrating more than six decades of Making Cancer History®, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is located in central Houston on the sprawling campus of the Texas Medical Center. It is one of the world’s most respected centers devoted exclusively to cancer patient care, research, education and prevention.

M. D. Anderson Cancer Center was created in 1941 as a component of The University of Texas System. The institution is one of the nation’s original three comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Act of 1971 and is one of 40 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers today.

In 2009, U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Hospitals” survey ranked M. D. Anderson as the top hospital in the nation for cancer care. M. D. Anderson has achieved the top ranking six times in the past eight years and has ranked as one of the top two hospitals for cancer care for 20 years, since the magazine began its annual survey in 1990.

  Ben Taub General Hospital (Harris County Hosp. Dist., Texas Medical Center)

Even in Houston, a city with a healthy list of great hospitals and the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, Ben Taub Hospital has garnered the respect of the world as an elite Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only two in the Harris County area. This 650 licensed-bed acute care facility is one of the nation's busiest trauma centers, caring for over 108,000 emergency patients each year.

Located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, Ben Taub's Department of Medicine provides patients a comprehensive program of care with subspecialties for major areas such as endocrinology, cardiology, oncology, pulmonary, renal and gastroenterology.

  Ben Taub Children's Center (Harris County Hosp. Dist., Texas Medical Center)

BTCC specializes in urgent care for children and has the physicians and capacity to handle overflow from other area emergency centers. That means BTCC can take care of a child's urgent medical needs faster than many other facilities. If the child is being referred from his/her primary care doctor, BTCC can also offer substantially earlier appointment availability in a range of pediatric subspecialty and diagnostic areas.

  Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (Texas Medical Center)

Awarded the Robert W. Carey Organizational Excellence Award in 2005, the Robert W. Carey Circle of Excellence Quality Award in 2007, and re-designation for Magnet Recognition for Excellence in Nursing Services in 2008, the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center serves as the primary health care provider for more than 120,000 veterans in southeast Texas. Veterans from around the country are referred to the MEDVAMC for specialized diagnostic care, radiation therapy, surgery, and medical treatment including cardiovascular surgery, gastrointestinal endoscopy, nuclear medicine, ophthalmology, and treatment of spinal cord injury and diseases.

  Bayshore Medical Center (HCA, Pasadena, TX)

Bayshore is a 369-bed acute care facility that has been serving the needs of southeast Harris County for over 45 years. With over 250 physicians on staff specializing in all areas of medicine, and over 1000 employees working to provide the highest level of care the hospital has retained its community hospital atmosphere while attaining state of the art technology.

  CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital (Katy, TX)

CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital is a 102-bed full-service acute care hospital located in Katy, Texas. It began operations in March 2000, offering a broad spectrum of adult and pediatric medical and surgical care with the latest in technology. The hospital has recently undergone a $50 million expansion and opened their new patient tower and additional 36-bed medical/surgical unit, providing patients spacious private rooms with sofa beds and desks for family members who wish to spend the night. The hospital welcomed The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Radiation Treatment Center to their campus this fall 2007.

  CHRISTUS St. John Hospital (Nassau Bay, TX)

CHRISTUS St. John Hospital is a 170-bed full-service acute care hospital located across from NASA-Johnson Space Center in Nassau Bay, near Clear Lake City and Webster. The hospital offers comprehensive medical services in cardiology, oncology, intensive care, emergency medicine, diagnostic imaging, gynecology, pediatrics, advanced laparoscopic procedures, cancer treatment, cardiovascular and vascular specialties. St. John has state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, which includes next generation GE 64-slice CT scanner and an advanced catheterization angiography lab.

  Clear Lake Regional Medical Center (HCA - Webster, TX)

Serving the community since 1972, Clear Lake Regional Medical Center (CLRMC) is committed to the care and improvement of human life. For everyone from fragile newborns to complex cardiovascular patients, CLRMC ensures Bay Area residents continue to receive the highest quality medical care just minutes from home. Since construction of the original 300-bed hospital, CLRMC has grown to become a 595-bed tertiary regional referral center offering a comprehensive array of medical services for the region's growing population.

  Conroe Regional Medical Center (HCA - Conroe, TX)

Twenty-five years ago, Conroe Regional Medical Center was known as the "county hospital." Today, having expanded to 360 beds, a staff of 1,200 with over 250 physicians on staff, CRMC is being recognized as a comprehensive regional tertiary referral center.

  Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center (located in NW Harris Co.)

Founded in 1983, the acility is a 180-bed hospital, offering an array of services and specialties including a 24-hour emergency department, therapy and rehabilitation services, surgical services such as weight loss surgery, and a women's health center.

  East Houston Regional Medical Center (HCA)

East Houston Regional Medical Center is a full-service acute care hospital located on Interstate 10 East in the East Harris County. The facility is a community-based hospital with over 250 board certified primary and specialty physicians and over 400 staff members. A 131-bed hospital, itboasts the only Level IV Trauma Designated Emergency Center in East Harris County. This certification allows the hospital to care for trauma cases and also allows for quick diagnosis and reduced wait times for their patients visiting the emergency department.

  Foundation Surgical Hospital (Bellaire, TX)

(FSH) is a state-of-the-art specialty orthopedic and neuro-spine facility designed and developed to provide patients, with the highest quality of patient care in a comfortable, convenient environment. FSH provides programs for spine surgery, total joint replacement surgery and sports medicine, as well as general orthopedic and neuro-spine procedures. The entire hospital was designed according to orthopedic and neurosurgeons' criteria to promote and enhance your recovery. FSH provides both inpatient and outpatient therapies for post-surgical rehabilitation. The Radiology Department utilizes MRI, CT and X-ray equipment with the latest advancements in digital imaging.

  Houston Northwest Medical Center (FM 1960, just west of I-45N)

Houston Northwest Medical Center is equipped to handle a range of medical situations, from intensive emergency care to same-day surgery. It offers a variety of quality outpatient services, including X-ray, MRI, mammography and cardiac catheterization.

  ICON Hospital (Humble)

Conveniently located near Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital and Kingwood Medical Center, this unique specialty hospital is the only Long Term Acute Care Hospital serving the Eastex Freeway (US Hwy 59N) corridor. ICON Hospital is a freestanding two story 54-bed LTAC hospital that includes an eight bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Services include full service radiology, laboratory, rehabilitation, dietary, cardiac and telemetry monitoring, case management, nutrition, critical care nursing, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services.

Throughout the years, the hospital’s high standards of service have been recognized both internally and by third party endorsements. Most recently, the TMF® Health Quality Institute awarded Kingwood Medical Center the Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award of Excellence in the summer of 2009. Additionally, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) – the facility’s parent company – announced satisfaction scores for each of its 168 hospitals; Kingwood Medical Center ranks first in the Houston market and in the top 15 percent of all HCA facilities for Employee Satisfaction and seventh overall for RN (Registered Nurse) Satisfaction.

  Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital (Harris County Hosp. Dist.)

Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital is a 332 licensed-bed acute care hospital offering a full range of medical services. LBJ is a verified Level 3 Trauma Center and was the first Level 3 trauma center designated in the State of Texas. However, LBJ handles approximately three-to-four times the patient load of any other Level 3 trauma center in the region with more than 74,000 emergency patient visits each year, and more than 14,900 inpatient admissions.

  Mainland Medical Center (HCA - Texas City, TX)

Mainland Medical Center is a 226 bed acute care facility with 90 percent private patient rooms. The center’s 725 member staff and more than 200 physicians provide quality, compassionate care with state-of-the-art services on the 31-acre campus at the corner of Emmett F. Lowry Expressway and Highway 3. The hospital is an HCA affiliate, one of the largest health care providers in the world.

  Memorial Hermann Healthcare System

Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center
Founded in 1925, Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center (TMC) was the first hospital to open in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center. For nearly a century, the hospital has set new standards of care in Texas and the nation through advances in the practice of medicine.

As the primary teaching hospital for The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Memorial Hermann provides exceptional care in heart, neuroscience, orthopedics, women's health, general surgery and organ transplantation.

As one of only two certified Level I trauma centers in the greater Houston area, the hospital provides 24-hour emergency and trauma care to more than 40,000 patients a year. Memorial Hermann Life Flight® air ambulance service operates a fleet of three helicopters, providing emergency rescue and air transport services to a multi-county area.

Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital (Texas Medical Center)
Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital is the primary teaching hospital for the pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology programs at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Their team of doctors, nurses, therapists and other allied healthcare professionals are focused on the specialized needs of women and children with an emphasis on quality, customer service and leading-edge research. A recent facility expansion increased our capacity to 240 beds, making them one of the country’s largest pediatric hospitals. The Women’s Center operates an additional 68 beds.

TIRR Memorial Hermann (Texas Medical Center)
Continually recognized as one of America's Best Hospitals, TIRR Memorial Hermann is regarded as a national leader in medical rehabilitation and research. They are a teaching hospital for Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. TIRR provides comprehensive medical rehabilitation for individuals who have experienced a traumatic brain injury or stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, multiple trauma, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or other neurological or neuromuscular disorders and complex orthopedic injuries.

Memorial Hermann Katy
As the only Level IV trauma center in Katy, the hospital is equipped to stabilize patients for transfer to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital when a higher level of care is required. Memorial Hermann Life Flight ensures fast transfer to the Texas Medical Center. Specialty services include orthopedics, women’s and children’s services, heart and vascular services, sports medicine and rehabilitation, diabetes self-management, cancer services and advanced diagnostic imaging.

Memorial Hermann Memorial City
Founded in 1971, Memorial Hermann Memorial City has been an orthopedic leader in West Houston. Plans to expand the Heart & Vascular Institute include the addition of interventional cardiology and cardiovascular surgery services, digital catheterization labs and digital imaging. Memorial City features the Heart & Vascular Institute, where approximately 95 percent of the open-heart surgeries are performed “off pump,” resulting in more favorable outcomes and faster recovery times for the patient. The Neurosciences Department includes a Neurological ICU – the only one in Houston outside the Texas Medical Center. Additional specialty services include urology, women's health, diabetes treatment, robotic assisted surgery, bariatrics and diagnostic imaging.

Memorial Hermann Northeast (Humble, TX)

Memorial Hermann Northwest
More than 600 medical staff physicians provide a wide range of medical specialties to meet the diverse needs patients. Specialty services include heart and vascular, ambulatory medicine, cancer treatment, sleep labs, diagnostic imaging, total joint replacement, rehabilitation and women's care.

A 165,000-square-foot South Tower houses the Family Birthing Center, Ambulatory Medicine Center, Outpatient Testing Center, orthopedic/surgical unit and a medical research library open to the public. The North Tower features an intensive care unit, three new surgical rooms and expanded food services.

Memorial Hermann Southeast
The present facility opened in 1986, though the hospital’s history of service to the community dates back to 1963. Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital has upheld its commitment to bringing you the best in healthcare, providing high quality care with the latest technology, close to home. A 274-bed hospital with two medical plaza buildings for clinical offices, Memorial Hermann Southeast is part of the 11-hospital Memorial Hermann system.

Memorial Hermann Southwest
Houston's largest and most sophisticated suburban hospital has been serving the community since 1977. Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital's signature services include its Heart & Vascular Institute, cancer, orthopedics, neurosciences, neonatology and outpatient imaging.

Specialties include radiation therapy, general surgery and an outpatient physical therapy department. Women's services include facilities for antepartum testing, labor and delivery, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and a breast care center. Our volunteers and chaplain services provide additional support services for patients and their family members.

The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services as a Level III Trauma Center and is linked through Life Flight air ambulance service to the Level I Trauma Center at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

Memorial Hermann Sugar Land

The Woodlands campus consists of the 216-bed main hospital and three professional office buildings, a team of more than 700 medical staff physicians, 1,100 employees and 250 volunteers.

Specialty services include heart and vascular services, outpatient imaging, a cancer center, pediatric medicine and women's care. Facility features include both a medical and surgical ICU to treat patients who have undergone procedures such as neurological, cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries and diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization labs.

In 2000, Methodist extended this expertise and quality into the Northwest community by establishing Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, located at the corner of Highway 249 and Willowchase Boulevard, one block north of FM 1960.

  Park Plaza Hospital (Texas Medical Center)

Since 1975, Park Plaza Hospital has been a major provider of health care services to the Houston community. With more than 500 physicians on staff and nearly 1,000 hospital employees, their health care professionals are able to meet your needs in an extensive variety of medical and surgical specialties, including treatment of diabetes, cancer and other diseases, as well as orthopedics, cardiology and maternity care. Their skilled nursing services, rehabilitation programs, outpatient services and outreach programs promote a continuum of care for patients and their families.

  Quentin Mease Community Hospital (Harris County Hosp. Dist.)

Quentin Mease Community Hospital is a 49-bed hospital located five miles east of the Texas Medical Center. The hospital is comprised of a CARF-accredited 25-bed physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) program and a 24-bed geriatric program. The hospital's medical staff is credentialed faculty and residents of Baylor College of Medicine.

Quentin Mease Community Hospital also houses the Martin Luther King Health Center, a community primary care facility. In 2009, MLK Health Center will relocate to a new, larger facility off Cullen Boulevard.  This move will mean that Quentin Mease will be able to utilize this valuable space for the care and treatment of its patients.

  Shriners Hospitals for Children Houston (Texas Medical Center)

Shriners Hospitals for Children — Houston is a 40-bed pediatric orthopaedic hospital, research and teaching center providing comprehensive medical, surgical and rehabilitative care to children with orthopaedic conditions.

  Spring Branch Medical Center (HCA)

SBMC is a 299-bed full-service tertiary care facility, with oncology, cardiac and vascular services, orthopedics, neuroservices, GI, sleep center, wound care, physical rehabilitation and diabetes education. With over 700 employees and 425 physicians on staff who represent 53 different specialties and subspecialties.

  St. Joseph Medical Center (CHRISTUS)

CHRISTUS Dubuis Hospital of Houston
Opened in March 1997, it has a total of 30 long-term acute care beds to provide care to medically complex patients. These patients require extended acute care hospitalization with specialty programs focusing on ventilator dependency, wound care, and rehabilitation.

Since 1976, Tomball Regional Medical Center has provided a full continuum of care for the residents of northwest Houston, Tomball, Waller, Cypress and Magnolia. Tomball Regional opened the Women's Center at Tomball on November 13, 2006.

The campus includes the West Houston Doctors’ Center and the new Boulevard Medical Plaza housing physicians from a wide range of specialties. West Houston employs more than 900 people and has approximately 500 physicians on staff.

      The Woman's Hospital of Texas (HCA, Texas Medical Center)

    Established in 1976, The Woman's Hospital of Texas (Woman's) is the state's premier facility dedicated solely to the care of women and newborn infants. The hospital maintains one acute-care facility near the Texas Medical Center with 275 licensed beds offering a full range of medical services exclusively for women and infants. In the fall of 2009, Woman's is slated to unveil its $75 million, 145,000 square-foot expansion which will add an additional 92 beds to its Texas Medical Center location.
